About the Festival
The Free Spirit Film Festival celebrates independent cinema, creativity, and free expression through film. Founded by Lobsang Wangyal, this unique festival gathers storytellers and seekers from around the world to share meaningful, thought-provoking works that inspire connection and conversation.
Now in its 21st year, the festival returns to the lush grounds of Hawaiian Sanctuary for three magical nights of film, art, and community. Each evening begins at 6:00 PM and features a hand-selected lineup of international and local films.

The Free Spirit Film Festival is produced and curated by Lobsang Wangyal who promotes social justice and cultural events.
Lobsang’s mission is to give voice to creativity and consciousness through film — bridging art, activism, and community around the world.
