Every weekday and Saturday morning, teachers from KupuKupu Center will guide students on deep, relaxing and energizing yoga flows to get their day started off right! After yoga, swing by the Laka Lounge for sunrise smoothies, teas and healthful breakfast treats!
Alexis teaches from the heart and enjoys sharing mythology and philosophy with her students along with the asana practice. She trained originally in India in the traditional style of Guru (teacher) to Chela (student) and after establishing that practice firmly for herself, went on to take her teacher trainings in the West.
First, through a program that focused on bringing Bhakti, the yoga of love and devotion into the class, and then getting her advanced certification through a Yoga and Ayurveda school, building upon the more traditional education she received in India. She continues to bring these ancient practices to our modern yogis with her clear and compassionate guidance and passionate love for the Vedas.
She is also a Vedic Astrologer and often offers her class some of this information, as well as using the planetary alignments and Ayurvedic principles to help guide her in her teaching. She is grateful to be joined by her husband and partner’s live musical accompaniment in many of her classes, and every morning in their popular Sacred Story, Music and Yoga offering. She is also so pleased to be a member of the amazing group of teachers from Kupukupu Center at Hawaiian Sanctuary.
