The Hawaii Farmers Union United (HFUU) Puna Chapter Members Meeting takes place on the1st Thursday of each month.
November 2nd Agenda:
5-6:30 Locavore Potluck (Pule at 5:30) Bring a locavore (mainly locally grown ingredients) potluck dish (please don’t partake without a contribution)
6:30-7 Members Meeting: Bring your plants and crops to sell or trade (10% of sales to be donated to our chapter)
7-8 Educational Lecture by Evan Ryan ~ Holistic Farm and Garden Design: A multi-generational approach: Utilizing holistic design practices to nurture a healthful, balanced environment to maximize food production.

Evan Ryan is an agricultural landscape consultant, designer, farmer, project manager, author and educator. He is the author of Hawai‘i Home Gardens: Growing Vegetables in the Subtropics Using Holistic Methods, a permaculture based guide to vegetable growing. His focus is applying permaculture systems to production agriculture, utilizing holistic land care practices to nurture resilient environments rich in clean air, fresh water, nourishing food and community. Evan has been farming on Maui since 2000 and is the founder of Pono Grown Farm Center.
