Satya Rose Presents Embodied Dance Creative Poetry
Join us as we integrate a holistic approach to expresion through the integration of movement and word alchemy.
Dance Portion: JodiMonét is a ritual dancer in invocation and Divine Union with over 20 years experience of structured dance such as Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical. Thanks to ecstatic dance and 5 Rhythms she has found a more free form of expression that allows the body to move and release as it sees fit activated by each beat! A facilitator for others to be present with their bodies!! A participatory transformational experience, she gives people permission to be danced by the music, by the souls expression!
Writing Portion: Zoë Clare StarWater is Fierce le Fey, poet/performer/community activist. She has traveled across the country multiple times, engaging communities with her introspection and dedication to the counter-culture. Zoë has completed three self-published books of poetry, capturing and redetermining the words left behind by The Revolutionaries and Beat Poets that have come before . She currently lives in Colorado and serves her community as an Event Producer and Poet/Performer, Fierce le Fey. She works with The StarWater Collective to inspire heartfelt expression, spiritual revolution and poetic interaction among all creative individuals!
Original Sound Design: Totem aims to give rise to this fusion of world musics with the element of dance. Established in Summer 2015, Totem is the solo project of Boulder based producer, Phoenix Clay Michael. Phoenix has been playing eastern-style instrumentation for over a decade(tabla, doumbek, darbuki, didgeridoo, ric, native flute etc). With Totem, Phoenix explores the digital domain with rich melodies, psychedelic synths, and exotic instrumentation. Totem culminates these two passions into a modern interpretation of ancient instruments. The sampling style is deep and visceral. Blending sequences of thick bass and instrumentation with live production. Live production includes: Didgeridoo, vocals, synth, keyboard, percussion, and bass. Phoenix’s debut album with Totem is titled, The Bonfire of Life, and was written as a motion of solidarity with the native tribes of North America. Totem sees the immense potency that dance has for healing in our culture, and also sees the reverent nature of ancient and native style music. The ultimate thrill is fusing these two things into a continuous musical experience shared amongst listener and maker. Totem is humbled to bring thy dance medication.
